FUNERAL OPTIONS FOR EXPATS IN THAILAND
On 21 October 2026, Jeff and Dao Mitchell, from AMAR Assistance, gave a presentation to the Pattaya City Expats Club on funeral options for foreigners in Thailand, offering practical advice on what families should do when a foreign resident dies and how advance planning can prevent delays, unexpected costs and disputes.

On 8 November 2026, we received the following message from Jeff and Dao about their experience in giving the presentation:
Good morning Ren,
I trust you are having a good weekend.
I apologise for the delay in providing a summary of our experience on the recent presentation we gave at the Holiday Inn. Anyway, here it is below.
"Dao and I would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone at the Expat Club Pattaya for making our recent presentation on funeral planning such an enjoyable and memorable experience. We were delighted to be invited to speak to such a large audience, although we have to admit that we were initially a little nervous, particularly as the subject is a serious one and the audience clearly had considerable knowledge and some challenging questions. From the moment we arrived, however, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. The invitation to enjoy such a wonderful buffet breakfast was a lovely touch, and we were looked after so warmly throughout our visit.
A special mention must go to Elizabeth for arranging everything and to Ren, who introduced us and managed the presentation with consummate professionalism. Ren had a wonderful ability to introduce humour at just the right moments, helping to break the ice and make what can be a difficult and sometimes sombre subject much more approachable. Also, our sincere thanks to Brad, who provided invaluable IT support and showed remarkable patience with our somewhat limited digital skills!
What began as a rather nerve-racking experience soon became something Dao and I genuinely enjoyed. The friendliness, courtesy and respect shown by the members, together with their willingness to engage and ask questions, made for a really rewarding morning. We left feeling that we had been among friends rather than simply delivering a presentation. We would have absolutely no hesitation in accepting another invitation to speak at the club and would jump at the opportunity. Thank you all for making us feel so welcome."
Look forward to catching up with you again in the not too distant future.
Best wishes,
Jeff and Dao
