The Pattaya City Expats Club will be welcoming Doc Martyn Green and Aew for a deeply important and emotionally powerful presentation addressing one of the most hidden and devastating forms of abuse: incest, its lifelong impact, and the path toward supporting survivors - The Abhorrence of Incest. This talk centers on Aew’s experience — not for shock, but for understanding. Her story illustrates the long‑term psychological impact of incest, the silence that often surrounds it, and the strength required to confront and overcome such trauma. Doc Martyn will provide medical and psychological context, while Aew offers her personal perspective and her commitment to helping others who carry the same burden. Together, they aim to shed light on an issue rarely discussed yet tragically common, offering insight, empathy, and hope to survivors and supporters alike. He is a retired medic whose career has spanned the United Kingdom, Jamaica, Australia, and now Thailand. Since settling in Pattaya three years ago, he has become a trusted source of medical care for both the expat community and local Thais, known for his dedication, compassion, and clinical expertise. He is the founder and Chairman of the Doc Martyn Foundation for Charity, an organization committed to providing complimentary medical assistance to disadvantaged individuals in remote areas across Thailand. His team travels anywhere in the country under the initiative known as Remote Rescue Thailand, delivering essential healthcare to those who would otherwise have no access. Aew is a loving housewife who has carried the profound burden of surviving incest inflicted by her psychopathic father beginning at the age of five. Now 57, she has lived decades beyond her abuser’s death yet continues to face the emotional consequences of her trauma — a reality shared by many survivors of childhood incest. Despite this history, Aew has shown remarkable resilience. She has adapted, endured, and grown into an intelligent, resourceful woman who now wishes to help others living with similar experiences. Her willingness to speak openly and support fellow survivors makes her a powerful and compassionate voice in this conversation.

Living in a foreign country is definitely not
the same as visiting it on holiday. There are many things you need to consider. 
During
the Open Forum at the Club meeting, which follows the speaker
presentation, members and guests can make announcements or ask questions
and receive answers about Expat living in Thailand, Pattaya in
particular.

addition to the weekly Meeting, the Club helps facilitate
various member organized activities such as special interest groups and
excursions that take place outside of the regular meetings offering the
opportunity to socialize and make friends with others that share a
