PATTAYA IS SERVED BY THE BANGLAMUNG LAND TRANSPORT OFFICE

Located off of Highway 36 near the Regent International School

Open from 8:30am to 4:00pm M-F (closed on Gov't Holidays)

To get a Thai driving license, Thais use an online App to obtain an appointment but foreigners will need to go to the Banglamung Land Transport Office to obtain an appointment. Click here for location.

The Office currently limits appointments for foreigners to 20 per day. It is suggested to arrive early.  In August 2025, we received the following report:

On entering the DLT office, ignore the information desk to the left of the door. Take the stairs to the first floor, ignoring  any queues of people on the stairs. As you enter the upstairs area there are some desks behind plexiglass, ignore these as to the right, in the room that used to be classroom if I remember correctly, there are 2 desks.

Show your license and passport and they will offer you a date to come back for the various physical tests (reaction time, colour blindness etc). You will receive an appointment slip that lists the paperwork that you need to bring with you on that day.

Very easy and the women doing the appointments spoke English, so there is no need to bring a Thai speaker.

I was, at first, offered an appointment 4 days later but I chose 1 week. Obviously the length of time you will have to wait for an appointment depends how many people are currently in the queue for renewal.

I have attached a photo of my appointment slip as it clearly shows the requirements
