PATTAYA IS SERVED BY THE BANGLAMUNG LAND TRANSPORT OFFICE

Located off of Highway 36 near the Regent International School

Open from 8:30am to 4:00pm M-F (closed on Gov't Holidays)

To get a Thai driving license, Thais use an online App to obtain an appointment but foreigners will need to go to the Banglamung Land Transport Office to obtain an appointment. Click here for location.

The Office currently limits appointments for foreigners to 20 per day. It is suggested to arrive early.  In June 2025, we received the following report:

I'm letting you know my experience at the DLT...low season(?). The DLT app allows foreigners to register, but when choosing a date, it shows fully booked for the year. I went to the DLT on my own.

I arrived around 9 am. They did not have two areas, foreign/non. I asked, and the lady there said I could do a walk-in application. I had all my paperwork, jic, so I took a number, "Walk in #28".

After sitting for a few minutes, everyone got up and walked in. I followed them upstairs and sat down again. After some time, I went to ask what I should do, and the man at window 3 said no walk-ins for foreigners. He checked my paperwork and gave me an appointment for 2 weeks later.

I recommend going with a Thai-speaking person as everything was in Thai, and most of the counter people spoke limited English.
